Schuler creates calculations and offers in different business areas for different machines and plants. The offers span from product variants to individual large-sclae plants for automobile manufacturers. Calculations are done with reusable components. These are filed in so-called libraries and are adjusted as needed. Before calcIT, Schuler used an in-house tool and Excel solutions for calculating. These tools no longer met the requirements of Schuler. A new, coherent solution with a central data storage space was needed.

First the calculation scheme of the Schuler Group GmbH was illustrated in calcIT in coordination with the corporation. The illustration of cross-corporation projects, such as part- and sub-deliveries, within the Schuler Group was special about this. Through the implementation of relevant transfer rules, the company was able to combine individual calculations with global large-scale projects.

Several aspects were specifically realized for Schuler. Among them was the illustration of intercompany processes, internationality for global use and cross-company collaboration, the calculation based on reference plants under consideration of inflation factors, or the illustration of configuration templates and print templates or the integrated creation of offers for special machines.
